Looking for information on what to pack for camping? Going camping is a very exciting experience, but you should always take a few minutes before you head out the door to make sure that you have packed all of the camping essentials that you'll need. If you are not sure what to pack for camping, take a look at the below list and then expand it to include personal items that you want to bring.

  1. Shelter and Sleeping Products. Unless you are staying on a campground that offers cabins, you will want to pack a tent for camping. Make sure that your tent can comfortably sleep the number of people that you are camping with. Depending upon your preference, you will also need to pack a sleeping pad, sleeping bag and/or pillow for camping.
  2. First Aid Kit. You never know what will happen when you are out in the wilderness, so when thinking about what to pack for camping, be sure to think about a first aid kit. You should pack a first aid kit that contains commonly used medical supplies, such as adhesive bandages, gauze pads, tape, tweezers and scissors.
  3. Eating Supplies. If you plan on going fishing to catch your own meals, make sure that you have a rod, reel, line and bait. You will need a stainless steel or iron pan to cook your fish or other meals in over a fire. Of course, you should also pack plates, knives, forks and napkins, as well. If you are bringing snacks and drinks with you, you should also pack coolers and ice for camping.
