- If you are going fly fishing in the winter, then you need to be prepared for the weather. Take long underwear and twice the number of socks than you usually would. This is very important. - You must have food. You might be sitting for hours before you catch anything. So have food ready. Take enough for the whole day. If you are going overnight then you must take enough for each meal.

- You'll need floats and weights to entice the little buggers to bite. Have a variety of these on hand. Pack a few just incase you need them.

- Your fly fishing rod, fly real and line are extremely important. You need to go look at several before you choose one. This should be a pole that is light enough to hold and yet able to catch the large fish. So choose according to those aspects. some people say that colors are important as well.
