Figuring out what to wear with blue plaid shorts, or any color plaid shorts can be a chore for some. Plaid patterns have been worn in the United States for generations. Plaid shorts can be found in a single color, or a combination of colors. Plaid shorts are also made from different materials. Search the list below for what to wear with your blue plaid shorts.

  1. A white T-shirt. Wear a solid white fitted or slightly loose crew neck T-shirt to keep your blue plaid shorts from looking too busy. Wear a pair of white tennis shoes with blue laces or white boat shoes with blue ankle socks. Wear the shirt tucked in and wear a light blue Navy web belt or wear the shirt out. As an alternative, wear a pair of blue plaid boat shoes with your solid white T-shirt.
  2. A blue polo shirt. Wear a lighter blue polo shirt with your blue plaid shorts. If you are slim, wear a lighter blue polo shirt with broad dark blue stripes, if you are an average size guy, go for pin stripes.
  3. Wear a light blue shirt with a collar. Your blue collared shirt should have short sleeves. If you want to wear a long sleeved shirt, simply roll the sleeves up to your elbows for a cool look. Tuck the tails of your collared shirt in and wear a light blue web belt or wear the shirt tails out. For the preppy look, wear a white cardigan sweater tied loosely around your shoulders with your collared shirt. Wear brown boat shoes and white ankle socks with this look.
  4. A red soccer shirt. Wear a red short sleeved soccer shirt with white or blue stripes on the sleeves with your blue plaid shorts. Do not tuck the shirt in, the shirt should hang low. Try wearing a blue headband and blue plaid sunglasses. Wear a pair of white tennis shoes with red laces with this choice.

You can tuck the front tail of your light blue shirt in and leave the back tail out for a unique, cool look also. Wear a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses during daylight hours for an added touch to each choice.
