What To Wear To Travel
Know what to wear to travel on your next trip and arrive in comfort. Traveling can be stressful enough without worrying about your clothing. Keep these ideas in mind next time you pack and dress for a trip.
- Plan ahead. Be aware of the current weather situation before you begin your trip and evaluate what you may need while you're at your destination. Don't plan too far in advance, however; weather can change quickly, especially in some regions. Pack or carry an umbrella rather than a rain coat to cut down on bulk.
- Don't overdress and keep it simple. When you're traveling, especially by air or when you'll be in a confined space for long periods of time, you'll want some breathing room. Wanting to be stylish is reasonable, but there are so many options available now in clothing, don't make it hard on yourself and wear items that require a lot of unnecessary extra care. Wrinkle-free blends are a good choice when you're on the road. Weather permitting, travel with a cardigan or similar item rather than wear a big coat. You may even be able to keep it on during security checks, saving you time in line.
-
Wear comfortable shoes. Use shoes that have proven to be comfy and good for walking. Choose a pair that slips on and off easily--especially helpful during airport security screening. That doesn't mean you should choose flip-flops; in an emergency, you may want something with a bit more protection. Also, flip flops aren't ideal walking shoes.
