What is Zumba? Zumba was created by Beto Perez. Zumba is a fitness series of Latin and Costa Rican dance move people can learn. Tons of people have lost weight and shed inches using Zumba. It has an interesting name to it, but it is a fantastic workout if you want to learn how to dance. It depends on your fitness level to some degree and your level of health. It's for someone who can move around pretty well already, but needs to get back in shape.
Yes, Zumba is a workout, but it's a little different. In the first video they teach you the basic steps to the Salsa, and a couple of other dances. The moves are bordering on sexy, but not overly sexy. You'll feel pretty good once you get the moves down. They take you through them slowly, and then a little faster. The songs you dance to are pretty fun. Given how popular the video is, you know a lot of people like the music too. Once you have the basic dance moves down move on to the next tape or video.
A step up with Zumba. Before you move on to the next workout, make sure you have the basics down. They move a lot faster in the next one. They'll continue to be faster and you are sure to be drenched in sweat. They combine dance moves and add to them. Plus they encourage a little free style in between in some parts. You will get a very good workout.
