When will Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" movie come out?  Tim Burton's long-awaited 3D version of "Alice in Wonderland" was released in theaters nationwide on March 5, 2010. The film's first soundtrack single and music video was released in February of 2010, providing a look at scenes from the movie; it was titled "Alice" and performed by Avril Lavigne. The movie started promotions and provided posters to theaters over a half a year before the movie's debut, making fans aware and excited well in advance of its premiere date. Trailers of the creative masterpiece were also shown in movie theaters for months prior to the release date of March 5th.

Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover, and Matt Lucas. It also has a strong ensemble cast of actors who are not yet well-known, but they're sure to be recognized with this film. Although it's produced by Disney like the familiar, beloved and classic animated version of the tale, this movie is considerably darker and more true to the original book, "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. Alice herself is older than the little girl portrayed in the animated film, and the story line and dialogue among characters are more complex and closer to the text as well.

Tim Burton is one of those filmmakers whose movies are instantly recognizable from his quirks and special touches when making movies, and that goes far beyond his frequent casting of Johnny Depp. "Alice in Wonderland" will be instantly recognizable to fans as a Burton project. As a 3D project, he also takes risks with this movie that haven't been taken with other films. Initial critical reception was warm, and the movie is set to have a successful run that just may last through the summer if fans get their way.
