Where Is Justin Bieber From?

Where is Justin Bieber from? Well, that's a much better question than, "What's with the hair?". Knowing where an artist is from helps give insight into how he or she developed, and perhaps where musical influences came from.

Justin Bieber was born in London, Ontario -- that's Canada, by the way -- on March 1, 1994. However, he was raised in Stratford, Ontario by Patricia Lynn Mallette, a single mom that birthed Bieber at 18 years old.

London, Ontario is located in Southwestern Ontario and is  a fairly big metropolitan city. If its name sounds familiar, this is because it was named after the more famous London, England. London was settled long before Bieber was even a twinkle in his young mother's eye. It's estimated this settling took place between 1801 and 1801.

Stratford, Ontario is not an unlikely place for a celebrity like Bieber to grow up, however. It is hope to the famous Stratford Shakespeare Fesival, where such stars as Alec Guinness, Christopher Plummer, Peter Ustinov, Dame Maggie Smith and William Shatner have performed. Musicians from these parts include Loreena McKennitt and Richard Manuel (of The Band).

Bieber appears to be quite proud of where he's from. For instance, the sign for Stratford, Ontario is prominent on the publicity poster for his 3D movie, "Never Say Never."

Chances are good, Bieber will settle in Los Angeles or New York eventually. Nevertheless, Justin Bieber does not seem like he'll ever forget that he is from London, Ontario, by way of Stratford.
