Decide where you want to go. The Upper New River is apart of the North American River Runners system. You can start your rafting adventure anywhere along the Upper New river as it is very mild. If you are only rafting the Upper new, you should start your white water rafting trip at the beginning of the Upper New River so that you can maximize your time.
- Decide if you want a day trip or an over-night trip. It is generally a good idea to get an early start on the Upper New River river. Over-night white water rafting trips are ideal if you plan to explore the Lower New River in addition to the Upper New River.
- Decide if you want to go alone or with a guide. If you are going beyond the Upper New River(to the lower New River for example), it is required that you have a guide. Additionally, if you do a guided tour of the Upper New River, you are not allowed to bring children under 5 years of age.
