Get your details of the Whitney Houston drug addiction right here. Whitney Houston's drug addiction has been a matter for debate and speculation since she married Bobby Brown in 1992. At the time the tabloids thought that the diva of R&B would be a good influence on bad boy Bobby Brown. But over time it was discovered that not only was Bobby Brown a negative influence on Whitney Houston, but she caused as much drama as Bobby.

The rumors of a Whitney Houston drug addiction started out as just tabloid gossip fueled by her marriage to Bobby Brown. When the pair would be seen outside of hot spots looking red-eyed and out of sorts, it was assumed that Whitney Houston was getting into drugs with the aide of her husband.

After the release of "The Bodyguard" rumors of the Whitney Houston drug addiction began to subside a bit. But even as she rode high on success of a blockbuster movie and the massive soundtrack album that went along with it, rumors of a Whitney Houston drug addiction were always bubbling just below the surface.

These rumors were kicked into high gear in 2000 when police found marijuana in Whitney Houston's bag. While she never admitted her drug use publicly, her behavior on the show "Being Bobby Brown" confirmed the Whitney Houston drug addiction to anyone who had a TV. On the show Whitney Houston was sickeningly skinny, rude and erratic. Her behavior was so bizarre on the show, everyone assumed that it had to be the drugs talking.

Her disastrous interview with Diane Sawyer in 2002 also seemed to confirm a Whitney Houston drug addiction. During the interview, Whitney Houston talked a mile per minute and couldn't seem to sit still. When asked about her drug addiction, she loudly proclaimed "crack is whack" and continued her rant by explaining the crack was for the poor and she had too much money to bother with crack. Between this interview and the reality show anything Whitney Houston did to deny her drug addiction was seen as the denials of an addict.

In September 2009, Whitney Houston did a two-part interview on the Oprah Winfrey show. During the interview Whitney Houston admitted that she had been struggling with addiction to cocaine and marijuana. While Whitney Houston did admit to her drug addiction, she claimed that she never did crack, free-based cocaine or smoked anything out of a pipe. Considering the topic it was a strange distinction to make.

With her drug addiction now public, Whitney Houston focused on her new album "I Look to You." However, it would be greeted with tepid reviews. It was obvious that Whitney Houston's drug addiction had taken its toll on her voice. Worse yet, the rumors of Whitney Houston losing her voice seemed to have been confirmed at a recent concert in Australia, where she was described as being sweaty out of breath on stage.

After canceling a series of performances in 2010, the rumors of the Whitney Houston drug addiction surfaced again. This time she claimed that the poor performance was due to allergies, although most people seem to suspect it was caused by a drug relapse. But no matter how out of control she seems to be, there is something about her that makes people cheer for her triumphant comeback.
