Why Hunting Is Good For The Environment

Have you wondered why hunting is good for the environment? Hunting is used for a variety of reasons by humans concerned with ethical practices. Licensed, properly educated, registered hunters gather for a specified amount of time with the state's permission to assist in overpopulation. Each state has a list of animals and the number allowed to be hunted per hunter. Methods used to hunt include a bow and arrow, nets, traps, dogs or a rifle.

Tax money raised for the hunts is why hunting is good for the environment. The money generated on taxes from hunting goes into managing and maintain parks, and purchasing property for animals to have a safe environment among other things. Some local clubs and National organizations purchase land for future hunting use.

The reasons why hunting is good for the environment include:

  1. Overpopulation can lead to crop destruction causing a shortage food. Overpopulation of any animal leads to starvation and a slow, painful death. Overpopulation concerns include the black bear, elk, moose, squirrel and antelope.
  2. Hunting animals and sea life for food to feed families is a necessity. If you want to know why hunting is good for the environment consider the meat and sea food your family eats. Food game includes birds, deer, sea life, rabbits, and hares to name a few.
  3. Animal hunting is good for the trades industry as pelts are used to provide bedspreads, rugs, garments, cuffs, collars and lining. Warmth and protection from the elements is why hunting is good for the environment.  Pelts include mink, fox, beaver, wolf, sable, chinchilla, and rabbit.
  4. Disease can be reduced or eliminated by way of vermin or varmint hunting. Prevention of spreading of disease is an important reason why hunting is good for the environment. Rodents can cause massive livestock destruction thus causing a shortage of food.
