A home is sometimes called a family's or a person's castle. It can be hard for a house to feel like home unless it meets all of its dweller's needs. Houses come in a variety of sizes an accommodations; see this list for the world's most expensive houses which would likely meet anyone's standards.

  1. 'Antilla.' Mumbai claims the most expensive house to date, with a $1,000,000,000 price tag. The 'Antilla' employs 600 servants to look after its 27 stories; no two floors have the same layout. This home reaches 570ft into the sky and has a six story car park.
  2. 'Villa Leopolda.' Once rumored to be the home of Bill Gates, this sprawling chateau with lavish gardens boasts 87,000 sq. ft.. Built in 1902, this house has 19 bedrooms, a movie theater, and a bowling alley. This Cote d' Azur France mansion is worth $525,000,000. 
  3. 'One Hyde Park.' The highly desired penthouse in London is presently worth $200,000,000. Built to accommodate the rich and famous, the home is equipped with bullet proof windows, iris scanners and a panic room.
  4. 'Fairfield Pond.' This Hamptons house claims the largest residential compound in America at 63 acres. The $170,000,000 Fairfield pond is also a beach front home; it has 29 bedrooms, 39 bathrooms and a $150,000 hot tub.
  5. 'Hearst Mansion.' This Beverly Hills iconic home was a character in the first " Godfather " movie and is worth $165,000,000. The mansion features three private pools, a movie theater and 29 bedrooms.
  6. 'Franchuk Villa.' This Kensington United Kingdom Victorian villa was a girls prep school up until 1997. After being bought in 2006 it was upgraded, as a 5 story home it is worth $161,000,000.
  7. 'The Pinnacle.' Resting in the mountains of Montana within a private ski and golf community, this house is worth $155,000,000. The pinnacle has 10 cozy bedrooms and a fireplace in every bathroom. Every inch of every floor is heated to withstand the Montana mountain's extremely cold winters.
  8. 'The Manor.' This 123 room Los Angeles home is worth $150,000,000. Built in 1991, " The Manor " dedicates an entire floor to closet space alone. The home also has an indoor skating rink, a bowling alley and a private orchard.
  9. 'Updown Court.' The value of this home rose in spite of difficult financial times; it was valued at $110,000,000 in 2008. The price of this Windlesham Surrey home today is $139,000,000. The 103 room mansion is bigger than Buckingham Palace.
  10. 'Dracula's Castle.' The name of this national monument says it all, it was built in the 14th century and is worth $135,000,000. The castle has 57 rooms in total and 17 bedrooms.
