Guns N’ Roses awed fans at their recent show in Ireland with a tribute to Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell. Axl Rose busted out the band’s hit song “Black Hole Sun,” and it was all kinds of awesome.
GNR delivered one of the best and most appropriate performances commemorating Cornell’s passing on May 18. The band even acknowledged the spirit of the tribute in a tweet sent just after the performance.
While performing the hit, GNR was true to the original heavy, dark vibe of the song, and Slash killed it when it came to the tune’s infamous guitar solo. But then again, would you expect anything less?
That said, what almost stole the show was Axl’s amazing collection of accessories. He sported just about every piece of upper-body clothing one can imagine in a single outfit: hat, bandanna, sunglasses, chunky ring, fingerless gloves, chain necklace and huge chain bracelet. Yowza!
