He may not be the best husband (or father) according to ex-wife Angelina Jolie, but Brad Pitt is a really great friend. He’s doing his best to help Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell’s children during this tragic time.

In the wake of the singer’s unexpected death, the musician’s famous friend was recently spotted paying a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood with Cornell’s kids, daughter Toni, 12, and son Christopher, 11. They were all spotted by fellow theme park visitors who couldn’t help but notice the A-list actor walking around.

“Brad definitely seemed like he was there for the kids to have a good time,” a source told E! News. “He was very accommodating to them and thankful to everybody at each attraction for helping them.”

According to the insider, Christopher was especially excited about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and even got to pick out a wand from the Ollivander’s Wand Shop attraction. “Brad was gracious and polite, but seemed intent on making sure the kids were happy.” The source said Brad was interacting with the kids as if he were a godfather or uncle to them.

“They all seemed comfortable together, like Brad was effectively taking their mind off of things for a few hours with a fun day at the park.”

Cornell’s family and friends are coping with his loss after he was found unresponsive with a band around his neck in the bathroom of his hotel room while on tour in Detroit on May 18. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed in a statement that a preliminary autopsy had been conducted and Cornell’s cause of death was determined as suicide by hanging. A full autopsy and toxicology test results are pending.

Pitt is a longtime buddy of the star, and he was also present at Cornell’s funeral last week. Other celebrity attendees were Pharrell Williams, Metallica rockers Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield and Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction.
