Harry Potter to the rescue? Who would have ever thunk it?

Actor Daniel Radcliffe is being called a hero after he didn’t hesitate to help a tourist who was slashed in the face and robbed by thieves in London last week.

According to the Evening Standard, the Harry Potter star was in west London when he and a group of people stopped to help a man who was suffering from a gash on his face. The injured man was a tourist visiting the U.K. with his significant other.

Metropolitan police said in a statement: “The victim — a man aged in his 50s — was walking in the road when two people riding a moped snatched his bag before riding off. The victim suffered a cut to the face during the incident.”

Radcliffe’s rep confirmed to several news outlets that the actor was at the scene, but could not comment any further because it was currently being handled by police.

Former police officer David Videcette reportedly saw Radcliffe comforting the tourist. “It was a bit of the surreal moment, I said ‘you’re Daniel Radcliffe’ and he replied, ‘I am,’ ” Videcette told the Evening Standard.

“He was a really nice bloke, a lot of stars wouldn’t have stopped to help,” Videcette added.

So, what was the purpose of all this? Well, apparently the thieves wanted the man’s Louis Vuitton bag, because that’s what they made off with.

The bad guys got away on mopeds. Police are still investigating and no one has been arrested yet.

Radcliffe isn’t the only star who has gone out of his way to help an innocent bystander or calm a shi**y situation. Back in 2010, rapper T.I. was able to stop a fan from actually committing suicide, while only a few months ago Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno stopped what he was doing to help a fan suffering from a seizure.
