Nikon released a pocket digital camera with a projector built into it last year, and like a lot of initial models, it was pretty cool, but came up lacking. Finally, they’ve worked the dim little bugs out and have released their second iteration of the projector camera and it’s got a few features which make it a lot more than a novelty item.
As far as improvements go, it’s got a built-in stand, a projector beam that’s 40 percent brighter, 720p digital movie recording, and a 14.1 megapixel sensor. The most attractive thing to us, though, is that you can attach it to your laptop via USB and use the projector to display whatever is on your computer desktop effectively making it a second, amazing, enormous monitor.
It also includes a lot of the bells and whistles you’ve come to expect from a modern point-and-shoot like the in-camera editing on the fly and a touchscreen LCD. And, with all that, it’s relatively affordable at $350. Order yours here.
