When he was nine or 10 months old, Vasu Sojitra was diagnosed with a blood infection in his right leg and had to have it amputated above the knee. Several years later, he got into skiing—and has been crushing the slopes ever since. This short film, “Out on a Limb,” documents his adventures in Quebec’s Chic-Choc Mountain range and Vermont’s backcountry. This sort of thing can be patronizing, but we didn’t really feel that here—we were too focused on Sojitra’s ridiculously smooth powder turns and jumps. If this video doesn’t inspire you to get out and shred this winter, we can’t imagine what will.
