Pulling your Halloween costume from pop culture is all good and fun, but if you aim for the obvious you run the risk of looking both uninspired and unoriginal. We can’t give you the perfect costume, but we can tell you what to avoid if you want to maintain some semblance of creativity this year. Here are the 10 most popular Halloween costumes that won’t impress anyone.
Don Draper
So you put on a tie and tucked in your shirt. So did sixty percent of people who went to work this morning. Unless you’re going the full mile (slicked-back hair, wool suit and a thousand-yard stare), don’t even bother.
Charlie Sheen
If you think you’ll be the only guy running around in a bowling shirt yelling “Winning!” every few seconds while rubbing baking flour under your nose, you’ve got another thing coming.
Anthony Weiner
You might get a couple of laughs, but they’ll be drowned out by all the groans. Also, put some pants on. No one wants to see that.
Harry Potter
Just stop.
The Situation or Snooki
Even costumes mocking these people come off as trashy.
