What could be a better scenario in life than being an average Joe and snagging a sexy celebrity? It doesn’t happen often, but it’s not out of the question. Just let the following stories serve as instructive inspiration…
1. Canadian tennis babe (and SI Swimsuit model) Genie Bouchard took one of her fans on a date to an NBA game after losing a Super Bowl bet on Twitter. University of Missouri student John Goehrke had bet her a date when she announced that she was backing the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. He tweeted at her, “if patriots win we go on a date?” after Bouchard had asserted her confidence in Atlanta. The tennis player replied “sure,” and then followed it up after the final whistle. We can only guess the Illinois native is now the biggest Pats fan ever.
2. Actress Jessica Alba found love with an average Joe. She met husband Cash Warren on the set of 2004’s Fantastic Four; he was working as an assistant. But mind you, his father is a famous actor and former college basketball player, so he comes from money. Anyway, they’ve been married since 2008 and have two children together.
3, 4, 5 and 6. Britney Spears, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez (with Casper Smart above) have all been romanced by backup dancers or choreographers.
7. Funny girl Amy Schumer is super successful these days and has a super nice bank account $16 million), so it was surprising when she found her latest boyfriend online. She met furniture designer Ben Hanisch via a dating app, and they dated for a year and a half.
8. Kylie Jenner made one lucky teenager’s life by going on a date with him after he contacted her on Twitter. Mind you, it was one of those promposal-situations, and Alberto Ochoa originally asked Emma Stone. After Stone politely shut him down, Kylie jumped in and saved the day. The reality star ended up going to Rio Americano High School’s prom night in Sacramento, California with the junior. She also brought her friend (and Instagram model) Jordyn Woods along for moral support. Win-win! (Note: Alberto is the guy right behind her in this shot—not the brace face.)
