A recent study published in the Journal of Applied Psychology found that exposure to rudeness can actually affect your mood and productivity for the whole day. Moreover, it spreads like the plague.

Researchers asked 81 business students to complete two surveys, one in the morning and one in the evening. Those of whom in the test group were asked to watch a video of a rude workplace interaction before completing the survey, and it really got to them. In their night surveys, they reported noticing more rudeness throughout their days, and they were less productive because of it all.

Previous research also shows that rudeness can spread like a “contagion.” If someone’s rude to you, you’re more likely to be rude to the next guy. We all have rough days and we all have to deal with a lot of d*cks sometimes. While we’re not telling you to act like one, too, we are telling you to drink the Dickelade.
