Cut back on Ben and Jerry’s and have better sex. It’s apparently that easy.

As part of a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, researchers looked at how calorie restriction can impact quality of life, sleep and sexual function. A total of 218 participants—both men and women between 20 and 50 years old with a BMI of 22 to 28—were split into two groups: One was randomly assigned to reduce their calorie intake by 25 percent, and the other was told to eat whatever they wanted. Just a year into the study, the first group reported a 12 percent loss in body weight, better sleep and enhanced sexual function. The second group reported none of the above. This is likely because they felt better, looked better and their joints didn’t hurt as much, which can obviously lead to better and more frequent sex.

So while the dad bod might get you laid—a lot apparently—a slimmer physique might get you laid better.
