We’ve all been there. Midway through a grueling plane ride, with no in-flight entertainment to speak of, when suddenly your portable music player flashes that godforsaken low-battery warning you’ve been dreading since the moment you realized you left your charger back home.
So what do you do when the music finally cuts out and all you’re left with is three seconds of ear-ringing silence followed by the phlegm-choked gargled snoring of the 300-pound Texas soccer mom sitting to your left? Now there’s a way to escape your misery: ChargeCard, a tiny, portable battery charger that’s compatible with just about any electronic device you can throw at it. It weighs only two ounces, measures just a quarter-inch thick and carries twice the charge of most other portable battery chargers. So, take that, boredom. Check it out here.

The NBA has officially banned a pair of performance enhancing basketball shoes over fears that the super-powered kicks would offer players an unfair advantage during games. Created by L.A.-based apparel company Athletic Propulsion Labs…
…and manufactured somewhere in the depths of China, the Concept 1 basketball shoe allegedly lends wearers up to 3.5 inches of additional vertical leap. "Under league rules, players may not wear any shoe during a game that creates an undue competitive advantage," the NBA said in a statement released October 19. PL has already capitalized on the ban, loudly advertising it on the front page of the company’s website. The $300 shoes are still available to the public, and will likely soon be seen on suburban basketball courts around the country, strapped to the feet of Lebron wannabes seeking an edge over their weekend competition. Three pretty great things are in this title, and there’s even more than just those three great things in the book. “Cowboys, Mountain Men, and Grizzly Bears” is the true account of some of the gnarliest times and territory in Western history.
Starting in “the first bloody battles between mountain men and Indians to shootouts between famous gunslingers.” The author, Matthew P. Mayo (delicious name) has written previously “Winters’ War,” “Wrong Town,” and “Hot Lead, Cold Heart.” He’s also got a variety of short stories and poems published, but this appears to be his most man-tastic work to date. Consider the except from the first chapter entitled Head-Smashed-In Buffalow Jump. READ MORE

Every guy has tinkered with the idea of buying a Harley. Maybe they read “Hells Angels” by Hunter Thompson, maybe they are fans of “Sons of Anarchy,” but the loud and dirty appeal of the classic American motorcycle is undeniable.
It’s just they’re pretty expensive, relatively. And they’re big. Harley knows this, and has designed a new ride to let more, younger riders in on the fun. It’s called the SuperLow which is a description of both its price point and its seat height. This makes it much more stable than some of its heavier, higher, big brothers. Hence, it’s easier to ride, and as the least expensive new bike in their 2011 fleet, it’s easier to buy. READ MORE
These handsome Ultrasone Edition 10 Headphones aren’t cheap, but when style and function intersect, it rarely is. These haute head huggers cost nearly $3,000, and offer such rare features as Ethiopian sheepskin leather ear pad cups…
…titanium-plated 40mm drivers, and Ruthenium (what?) plating. It even has Kevlar coated cables in case you’re worried about somebody shooting out your connection while you’re listening to “Sabotage.” The rarest and most visible feature, though is the Zebrano wood inlay covering the outside of the cups. The open surface allows for greater air permeability and lower resonance. READ MORE
Roger Moore, before he was Bond, was in a movie called “The Man Who Haunted Himself” in which he drove around, being very suave and British, in one of the most famous Italian, luxury sports cars ever made: the Lamborghini Islero.
And now, that selfsame Lambo has been signed by Moore himself, is up for auction and expected to garner around $215,000. The Islero is not just notable for being Moore’s ride in his pre-Bond days, but for being a favorite of Furruccio Lamborghini himself – as he owned and drove one. In the world, though, there were only 100 of them every built in the GT ‘S’ model. And this car is even more rare as it is one of only five RHD examples ever created. READ MORE
