Jesse Van Kuijk isn’t so concerned about gas prices. He doeesn’t need to be. He’s got a pedal-powered plane that he built himself, Da Vinci style.

It actually works. How come all of us don’t have these? You should be able to buy this kit at Walmart for godsake!

This all went down in the small Dutch town of Budel, and the craft is made out of balsa wood, rip-resistant foil, and polyurethane. The entire thing weighs only 56 kg.

Ecofriend.org reports that he learned everything he needed to know about aviation from “a variety of sources.” That seems ridiculous. Apparently there are kindly aeronautic engineers just sitting around in rocking chairs all over the place in Europe. They also have all the hot women. If it weren’t for Popeye’s chicken, we’d likely consider moving.
