All great ideas happen over a beer and with one inquisitive thought. Shark Week, Quidditch, buffalo wings, the Marine Corps—none would have come to fruition without a few drinks at the bar.

For the founders of the first-ever portable draft beer system, Fizzics, the question was: Why does beer taste so good from the brewer’s tap, but doesn’t taste nearly as good from a can, bottle or growler? Fizzics gives any carbonated bottled, canned and up to 64 oz. growler beer— IPAs, pilsners, brown ales, stouts, porters, lagers, you name it—a brewery fresh taste with its six patented technologies that make the coarse mouthfeel far more accessible. All there is to do on your end is put your beer into the canister, which is designed to serve as an insulator to keep your beer cold (or you can pack ice atop the growler to keep it fresh up to 48 hours), and then lace the hose into the beer. After you close the canister, tap the handle forward holding your beer glass at an angle. When you’re ready for the head, push the handle back. Sound waves are used to smooth the mouthfeel of the head, giving it a wildly creamier texture and taste while preserving the flavor and aromas.

The Fizzics doesn’t require CO2 or Nitro cartridges, proprietary replacement parts or ongoing refills to operate; it’s basically the Keurig of the beer industry. And the hose is antimicrobial so, like a Keurig, you don’t need to clean the Fizzics in between pours. If you want an IPA but your buddy wants a lager, you won’t disturb the taste of whoever gets next. To clean the system when you’re ready, just set a glass of water into the canister and tap it for five seconds.

Powered by four standard AA batteries and super lightweight, the Fizzics is an easy carry-along for your next outdoor camping or tailgating adventure. We were also told that it’s a phenomenal party-starter, so we’re considering bringing this thing to a bar, ordering bottles all around and pouring our own… That’s allowed, right?
