Not to be outdone by Apple’s oft-leaked iPhone 4, Motorola has unveiled their latest techno bauble, the Droid X. It’s everything the old Droid was (except a tactile keyboard), and more. 

Notable improvements include a much larger screen, the Android 2.1 operating system with a blur skin, a shockingly excellent 8 megapixel camera, and the ability to capture 720p video. It’s less bulky, too, without a slide-out keyboard like it’s predecessor. It’s going to be a contender for both the iPhone 4 and, more equally, the HTC Evo, and it certainly outstrips previous droids in terms of performance and looks. 

Some things it lacks, though, are a front-facing camera and 4G support (like the Evo), but it’s easily the best phone available on Verizon, so if you live somewhere that Sprint and AT&T don’t cover as well as they should (like the Made Man offices in Beverly Hills), this is probably your best bet in terms of smartphones. Here’s some stat pornography for you:
