The Tokyo Stock Exchange announced they are going to up the number of daily trades it will allow to 5 million up from 4.5 million. This is the number of trades not the overall volume. My question is why is there a limit? They should want as many trades as possible. They certainly have the technology to make it limitless somewhere. They hope to have it up to 8 million by the end of the year. People are slowly beginning to lose confidence in the TSE with all the problems lately. They either need to buy another electronic exchange and use the technology or hire a new company to help build the platform. The TSE has to close early the other day because it reached its trading limit. A totally different kind of limit up or down.
