This just in: One of the UK’s top osteopaths says that in the past five years, sex-related injuries have risen a whopping 80 percent! The main reason? Adventurous bedroom activities, which can lead to everything from neck injuries to ankle sprains. There’s a lot to unpack here, but that number really brings new meaning to the term “unsafe sex,” huh?

All that said, our biggest fear remains, ahem, penile injury.  Most of us know how much it hurts like hell to just break a bone, but imagine breaking that bone, guys. It’s totally possible.

According to Medical Daily, when you “break” your penis, you’ll hear a cracking sound, you’ll swiftly lose your boner, and your d**k will turn trippy shades of blue, due to the pooling blood in your damaged genitals.

In a word, yikes.

Before you get all afraid of having sex now, just know that breaking your penis doesn’t mean actually breaking it. That’s because human weiners don’t have a bone. Breaking your wang involves tearing a hole in the tunica albuginea. That is the part of your d**k responsible for giving you boners.

So what sex positions cause this to happen the most? Medical Daily says that half of snapped penises are caused by having a woman sit on your junk in the cowgirl position. Scary, right? That’s one of the most commonly used sex positions.

“In this position, the woman controls movement with her body weight as she’s on the erect penis,” the researchers wrote in the study. “Here, the man is unable to stop the penetration if it goes awry.”

If you’re into doing it doggy style, you may want to be extra careful, too. Twenty-nine percent of broken d**ks in the study were caused by doing her from behind a little too hard.

“In this position, the man exerts a lot of power into his thrusts, which can take a wrong turn if he is not diligent,” the researchers observed.

The third most dangerous sex position is missionary. What the what? The easiest and most boring position out there? Yep, you bet.

Don’t make all of this news ruin your fun, though. The odds of breaking your penis are extremely slim, so you’ll most likely be fine. However, if something does go wrong and you end up injuring your manhood, seek medical emergency attention right away.

How is the problem fixed? Doctors surgically repair the torn tissue with a minor operation that only takes about an hour, and you can be back to having sex in about a month.

But let’s be real, does any man really want to break his part? Keep calm and carry on—carefully.
