Despite this week’s release of the epic Jay Z/Kanye West collaboration Watch the Throne, it’s easy to assume that nearly every 2011 record is lightweight tween pop, moronically monotonous radio rap, self-consciously difficult hipster minimalism or some unholy mix of the three. But before you grab your cane to chase some kids off your lawn, check out the 10 Best Albums of 2011 (so far). They just might restore your faith in humanity, or at least its taste in music.
