The WOWee portable speaker isn’t really a speaker. It’s a high-tech peripheral device that uses a Gel Audio driver to resonate with whatever surface you place it on – your table, your car — or even you body into a speaker.
Protip: the table is going to work better than your body, probably. We were impressed, though with how well it worked on large, flat surfaces with hollow areas beneath them – coffee tables and windshields. It’s certainly loud enough for a casual house party, and though it’s a little larger than some of its competitors like the MINI vibration speaker, it produces a much fuller sound, and is worth the $80 price tag.
