You probably know it as its previous code name, Project Natal, but this revolutionary motion-tracking hardware for the XBOX 360 is now called the Kinect, and it’s ready for distribution soon.
Unlike the Nintendo Wii or the derivative Playstation Move, you need no controllers to use Kinect. Using several motion-sensing trackers and an audio sensor, the Kinect tracks the actual movements of your unadorned human body via 48 separate points. It can recognize your face and your voice then translates all of this information into remarkably smooth game play. The rumor is that there will be around 12 titles available for it at launch. Price is TBD, but keep an eye out for this game changer on the shelves soon.
